Retirement Board.
We specialize in providing high-quality retirement board for our senior citizens. Many of our retirement board owners are long distance owners who are rarely able to visit their beloved horses in person. We can provide regular photo and text updates to help maintain the long-distance relationship!
Jeff Bodine, Farm Manager, has more than 30 years experience caring for older horses and is able to handle any type of chronic or acute medical issues your horse may experience. Jeff has good relationships with the local vets and will do what it takes to make sure your older horse is always well cared for.
What it includes:
Grain (or mash), supplements, medications served twice per day; mixed to perfection for older horses’ special needs
Daily in-person checks to make sure they are sound, eating, and otherwise acting normal
Occassional grooming, bathing, and other TLC
Special care given for private turnout or small group turnout to ensure senior horses can live in peace without being bullied by younger horses.
Coordination with vets and farriers
Medical care as needed in the event of medical emergencies or other concerns.
